Visiting Stratford

From historic pubs to Manhattan Lofts ..

There’s an excellent selection of places to stay in and around Stratford, including international chain hotels, friendly family run establishments, as well as a range of serviced apartments.

Manhattan Lofts, Stratford City

Many hotels have been developed within Stratford town centre in recent years including a Holiday Inn Express, Travelodge and the Westbridge Hotel all located on on Stratford High Street, and an IBIS Hotel, located in Stratford Town Centre.

Within the Westfield Stratford City development you will find the 11 storey Holiday Inn with it's fantastic views over the Olympic Park, as well as a range of serviced apartments within the Staybridge Suites, and a 267 bedroom Premier Inn hotel next to Stratford International Station.

The friendly Railway Tavern offers a warm welcome with rooms available over a traditional East End pub, and nearby you will also find the Marlin Serviced Apartments.

There are a number of new hotel developments on the horizon, including the stunning Manhattan Loft Gardens, which with its apartments, hotel, restaurants and a spa set in a 42 storey tower is set to become the tallest building in the area, as well as a 280 bedroom new Moxy by Marriott hotel to be built near Stratford Regional station.

As for drinking, in Stratford there are a wide range of pubs from modern family bars to the wooden beams and open fires of the Grade II listed King Edward VII serving up traditional pub food with a gourmet twist. You can even enjoy a glass or two at any time of the night or day at the 24hour bar in Aspers Casino, in Westfield Stratford City.

On the food front there are a range of high street restaurants such as Pizza Express, along with a number of warm and welcoming local cafes such as Cafe Mondo, located right next to the Town Hall. In Theatre Square, the Stratford Circus cafe bar offers up what is often described as the best coffee in London, Monmouth Coffee, roasted every day just across the river in Bermondsey. You can also enjoy live music and entertainment every night in the vibrant bar of the Theatre Royal which offers up lip-smacking Caribbean cuisine (a particular recommendation is the Jerk Chicken, served with plantains!).

Westfield Stratford City offers an overwhelming range of eating and drinking options, with over 60 bars, restuarants and cafes including household names such as Jamie's Italian and TGI Friday's, as well as more eclectic international cuisine in its World Food Court and further delicacies in the Great Eastern Market.
