Roof East to launch for the season on 1 May 2015
Wednesday, 1 April 2015
Spring is well and truly here and Startford’s rooftop venue, Roof East will re-open for the season on Friday 1 May 2015.
The Roof East team have been working behind the scenes on a new and exciting program and can’t wait to open the venue’s doors again. Spring/Summer 2015 will see the return of the hugely popular outdoor cinema from Rooftop Film Club as well as the Roof East bar and the only aquaponic urban farm in London, The GrowUp Box.
The calendar of events and activities is filling up fast with something for everyone - from morning exercise classes, acoustic sessions to disco nights and art shows.
The urban pocket park at Roof East will continue to be free for everyone to visit and enjoy during venue opening hours. It boasts planters made from recycled materials which are full of shrubs and saplings - bringing colour and scents to the space. Bees have already tracked down the flowers and the smell of rosemary and lavender now roll across the park. All planters were built so that they can be moved around to give different layouts to the space. In a nod to the former car park use, Roof East even has three cars filled with earth and plants.
For further info and to keep updated on opening times and all activities at Roof East visit www.roofeast.com. The team is also very keen to work with the local community and corporate organisations, so if you would like to enquire about hosting an event or hiring the space, get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Roof East is supported by Urban Space Management Ltd, The Mayor of London Pocket Park Funding, The Stratford Renaissance Partnership and London Borough of Newham.
